From talking with alumni of other high schools, I have found that I may be in the minority when I claim to have 1. enjoyed my days at high school and, 2. learned a lot while there. I can now wow and fool my study hall students by typing without looking at the keyboard because of the typing class I took (on a typewriter, no correction ribbon until second semester). I wouldn't have my current job had I not had such phenomenal Spanish teachers. Plus, I had great friends, who remain some of my very best friends to this day.
Another skill that I honed at the home of the Purple Knights? Time management. Ok really, procrastination. Another? The academic art of B.S.ing. Thanks many long nights completing A.P. History essays, Government Briefing papers & workbook assignments completed in the hallway before class (God bless 10 minute passing periods!), and mythology videos of Thor and Loki, I have successfully completed one more class toward my Masters degree. This is despite having somehow turned in a blank final assignment. Still, I only have a few classes left and I'll have my advanced degree in December.
Wish me luck. And THANK YOU Beloit Memorial High School.
